PostHeaderIcon Tiger Plays Best 9 Holes in US Open History

While there have been three other 9 holes in US Open history where the number was lower, Tiger Woods’ back nine 30 today was, under all the circumstances, the greatest of all time.

At one point late in the front nine Tiger (despite a Superman-like eagle) trailed the lead by seven shots and appeared to be barely hanging on. Then, after a poor drive on 10 (which must have landed near a phone booth where Tiger was able to put on his red cape) Woods made 5 straight 3s and finished with five birdies and no bogies on the nine to somehow finish just one off the lead.

This was made all the more remarkable by the reality of his still healing knee and the two month lay off it caused, as well as the pairing with rival and local favorite Phil Mickelson (whom Tiger pounded by seven shots today)

Once again, Tiger has shown that you doubt him at your own peril.

Thank you Tiger for yet another amazing performance!!
